Application for Operation: Cooperation, Cooperative Spirit Award (“Award”) constitutes your understanding and acceptance of these Official Rules.

1. To Enter

The entries will be accepted beginning September 10, 2009 and ending 5:00PM (All Times Pacific) November 10, 2009 (“Submission Period”). No purchase necessary to enter or win. To enter, Applicants (“Applicants”) may submit entries to www.opcoop.coop or mail submissions (“Submission Location”) to:

Entries should answer the question: “How do you come together and share a resource?” Entries can be in any form of media, (i.e. Song, Poem, Painting, Photo, Video, Voice Recording, etc.) Entrant may have his or her submission used in Seattle Metropolitan Credit Union collateral and media (“Content Requirements”):

  1. All entries must be accompanied by a completed entry form (available at www.opcoop.coop/submit). If the submission is physically mailed in, it must include a completed printable version of the entry form. Submissions without a completed entry form will not be returned, nor will entrant be notified.
  2. Entry must be the original work of the entrant, may not have been previously published, and must not infringe upon the copyrights, trademarks, rights of privacy, publicity or other intellectual property or other rights of any person or entity. If the entry contains any material or elements that are not owned by the entrant and/or which are subject to the rights of third parties, the entrant is responsible for obtaining, prior to submission of the entry, any and all releases and consents necessary to permit the use and exhibition of the entry by Seattle Metropolitan Credit Union in the manner set forth in these Official Rules, including, without limitation, name and likeness permissions from any person who appears in or is identifiable in the entry. If any identifiable person appearing in the entry is under the age of 18 in his/her state of residence, the parent or legal guardian is required to provide permission. Seattle Metropolitan Credit Union reserves the right to request proof of these permissions in a form acceptable to Seattle Metropolitan Credit Union from any entrant at any time. By submitting an entry, entrant warrants and represents that he/she and any persons appearing or who are identifiable in the entry consent to the submission and use of the entry in the Contest, and to its posting on www.7principles.coop, www.smcu.com, or www.opcoop.coop in connection with the Contest.
  3. Seattle Metropolitan Credit Union reserves the right to determine the validity and appropriateness of all submissions and to reject any submission for any reason.
  4. A signed, written or electronic personal release by photographer, artist or owner of the copyright is required for all submitted content, authorizing use of the submission in the Contest and any future promotions or campaigns as deemed appropriate by Seattle Metropolitan Credit Union.

Entries become the property of Seattle Metropolitan Credit Union and will not be returned. Seattle Metropolitan Credit Union reserves the right to disqualify any entry for any reason, in its sole and absolute discretion. By submitting any entry, entrant understands and grants permission for his/her entry to be posted on 7principles.coop, www.smcu.com, or www.opcoop.coop in perpetuity for viewing by visitors to the Web site.

2. Eligibility

Contest is open to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia, eighteen (18) years or older, as of September 10, 2009. Void where prohibited or restricted by law. The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

3. Contest Judging

Each submission entered into the Contest will be placed online at www.opcoop.coop. The submissions will then undergo one round of voting by Seattle Metropolitan Credit Union employees which will narrow the field to seven submissions. These final seven submissions will then be placed on the voting page of opcoop.coop to be voted on by the general public from November 16, 2009 through 5:00 PM, November 20, 2009 (“Voting Period”). The winner will be the entry with the most votes and will be announced November 23, 2009.

4. Prize

The winner of the Gold Award will receive $5000.

The winner of the Creative Award will receive $1000.

The winner of the Shoestring Award will receive $500.

The winner of the Social Media Award will receive $500.

5. Prize Restrictions

Prize is not transferable. No substitution of prize permitted except at the sole discretion of Seattle Metropolitan Credit Union. Federal, state, and local taxes and any expenses relating to the acceptance and use of a prize not specified are the responsibility of each winner.

6. Prize Claim

Winner will be notified by phone or a traceable method of delivery, and will be required to complete and sign an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability Release, form W-9 and, where legal, a Publicity Release which must be returned within 14 days after prize notification. Failure to submit all required documentation within 14 days will result in forfeiture of the prize. In such case the prize will be awarded to an alternate winner. If prize or prize notification is unclaimed or returned as undeliverable after 14 days, prize may be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner.

7. Additional Terms

By participating in the Contest, entrant (i) agrees to be bound by these Official Rules, including all eligibility requirements, and (ii) agree to be bound by the decisions of Seattle Metropolitan Credit Union and Judges, which are final and binding in all matters relating to the Contest. (iii) release, discharge, and hold harmless Seattle Metropolitan Credit Union, their respective subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, directors, and employees from any liability, claims, or damages arising out of their participation in the Contest and the acceptance, use, misuse, or possession of any prize. Failure to comply with these Official Rules may result in disqualification from the Contest. Sponsor reserves the right to permanently disqualify any person it believes has intentionally violated these Official Rules. Contest subject to all federal, state and local laws and regulations. Void where prohibited by law.

8. Assignment of Rights

Entrant hereby acknowledges that entry and all other materials of every kind whatsoever created by entrant relating to the Contest (collectively, the “Work”) are a “work made for hire” (as that term is used in the United States Copyright Act) for Seattle Metropolitan Credit Union, and Seattle Metropolitan Credit Union is the sole and exclusive owner, in perpetuity and throughout the universe, of all right, title and interest in and to the Work, including without limitation all copyrights in and to the Work (and all renewals and extensions thereof now or hereafter provided by law) and all the rights therein and thereto, and may exploit the Work (and all rights therein) in any manner throughout the world without restriction. Without limiting the binding effect of any of the foregoing provisions, in the event that any part of the Work is not deemed to be a “work made for hire” for Seattle Metropolitan Credit Union, then entrant hereby irrevocably and exclusively grants and assigns to Seattle Metropolitan Credit Union (or, if any applicable law prohibits or restricts such assignment, entrant hereby grants to Seattle Metropolitan Credit Union an irrevocable, perpetual, royalty-free, transferable license of) limited right, title and interest in and to such Work, including, without limitation, all rights of every kind and nature (whether now known or hereafter devised, including all copyrights therein and thereto and all renewals and extensions thereof), throughout the universe, in perpetuity, for all purposes, in any and all media, whether now known or hereafter devised.

By submitting an entry, entrant acknowledges and agrees that Seattle Metropolitan Credit Union may obtain many submissions under this Contest and that such entries may be similar or identical in theme, idea, format or other respects to others submitted under this Contest and/or other contests staged and/or sponsored by Seattle Metropolitan Credit Union, and waive any and all claims entrant may have had, may have, and/or may have in the future, that any submission accepted, reviewed and/or used by Seattle Metropolitan Credit Union (or its respective designees) may be similar to his/her entry. entrant acknowledges and agrees that Seattle Metropolitan Credit Union does not have now, nor shall any of them have in the future, any duty or liability, direct or indirect, vicarious, contributory, or otherwise, with respect to the infringement or protection of any copyright in and to entrant’s entry.

9. Limitation of Liability

Seattle Metropolitan Credit Union is not responsible for printing or typographical errors in any Contest-related materials; for stolen, lost, late, misdirected, damaged, incomplete, or illegible entries; or for transactions that are processed late or incorrectly, or are lost due to computer or electronic malfunction. Seattle Metropolitan Credit Union reserves the right to cancel or modify the Contest if fraud or technical failures compromise the integrity of the Contest as determined by Seattle Metropolitan Credit Union in its sole discretion.

10. Winner List

For the name of the winner, mail a your request stating such as well as a self-addressed, stamped envelope to Seattle Metropolitan Credit Union, Attn: Marketing, P.O. Box 780, Seattle, WA 98111-0780. Requests must be received by 5:00 PM, November 23, 2009.

11. Forums

Our forums are powered by phpBB (hereinafter “they”, “them”, “their”, “phpBB software”, “www.phpbb.com”, “phpBB Group”, “phpBB Teams”) which is a bulletin board solution released under the “General Public License” (hereinafter “GPL”) and can be downloaded from www.phpbb.com. The phpBB software only facilitates internet based discussions, the phpBB Group are not responsible for what we allow and/or disallow as permissible content and/or conduct. You agree not to post any abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, sexually-orientated or any other material that may violate any laws be it of your country, the country where “Op:Coop Community Forums” is hosted or International Law. Doing so may lead to you being immediately and permanently banned, with notification of your Internet Service Provider if deemed required by us. The IP address of all posts are recorded to aid in enforcing these conditions. You agree that Seattle Metropolitan Credit Union has the right to remove, edit, move or close any topic at any time should we see fit. As a user you agree to any information you have entered to being stored in a database. While this information will not be disclosed to any third party without your consent, neither Seattle Metropolitan Credit Union nor phpBB shall be held responsible for any hacking attempt that may lead to the data being compromised.
