Vashon Island Low Tide Celebration
How do you come together and share a resource?
A committee of six start meeting in November to plan a community event for the lowest tide in May, before school is out and people are off on vacation.
How would your group use the award money?
Printing of posters and flyers, transportation for disabled / limited mobility visitors by have a shuttle bus bring attendees down the hill and back up (elevation of 250 feet from top of hill to sea level) reimburse the chair person of the committee for travel expense from Seattle to Vashon (ferry fare is expensive). pay for educational materials for the beach naturalist that are in training.
