How do you come together and share a resource?

A group of twenty-plus volunteers gather once a month, under the direction of Chef John Platt to prepare hearty & balanced meals that are delivered to six homeless shelters in the Seattle and Eastside areas. This project is run entirely on donations and volunteer efforts.

How would your group use the award money?

The monetary award would be used for the long-term sustenance of the program. Chef John Platt is a very talented person in that he can look at the variety of foods that are donationed and turn them into hearty and balanced meals for the homeless. Nothing goes to waste!

So many foundations help a single group or shelter. This wonderful organization serves so many! I have heard they now feed in excess of 400 people, and not just plain fare, but top restaurant quality wholesome food. Well done!
