Puget Sound Symphony Orchestra
How do you come together and share a resource?
Puget Sound Symphony Orchestra (PSSO) is the epitome of cooperation. PSSO is an all-volunteer community orchestra that has entertained Seattle area audiences for 10 years!
PSSO was founded by former Microsoft employee Alan Shen, and he shares Seattle’s musical talent with the public by bringing together these wonderful musicians. All of the regular musicians with PSSO are volunteers, regular folks with day jobs. They are not professional musicians, they are not paid for their participation. But they do create professional caliber music.
PSSO shares a community resource by sharing the musical talents of its orchestra members. In turn, the orchestra shares its gifts with the Seattle community. PSSO is embarking on its 11th season as an all-volunteer group and entertains crowds of about 500 at each concert at Town Hall.
How would your group use the award money?
PSSO would use funding to continue the Student Solo Competition scholarship program, as described below.
