Community Voice Mail National

How do you come together and share a resource?

CVM services are provided through strategic alliances with 45 community-based social service host sites around the country under the umbrella of a central national office. Community Voice Mail National serves as a source of start up and ongoing support, providing everything the local CVM host site staff needs to be successful:

  • Training and technical support;
  • Best practices, resources, and structured peer-to-peer knowledge sharing;
  • Infrastructure for collecting outcomes, and
  • Incubation of new applications.

Through these strategic alliances, CVM is distributed via more than 2000 agencies in more than 400 cities and towns.
In this way, CVM 1) distributes CVM numbers to phoneless low income people in a way that promotes high utilization, 2) utilizes the broadcast features of the technology to distribute vital and timely information to difficult-to-reach populations, and 3) captures (through phone survey tools) client feedback and outcomes data.
Our distribution network includes more than 2000 community-based agencies that are responding to a variety of challenges including joblessness, homelessness, poor health, domestic violence, legal aid and others.

All CVM agencies in these local networks around the country share one common need – to connect people with information and resources in a timely, credible, reliable, dignified and confidential manner. Community Voice Mail is the connector.

How would your group use the award money?

Increase the number of people served annually from 40,000 to 80,000.
