Seattle Reykjavik Sister City Association

http://www.seattle-reykjavik.org

How do you come together and share a resource?

The Pacific Northwest has a rich Scandinavian heritage . It is in that spirit that Seattle reaches across the Atlantic Ocean to Reykjavik, Iceland in order to strengthen cultural and commercial alliances for our mutual benefit. The Seattle Reykjavik Sister City Association is proud to be the conduit of this community enriching global friendship.

How would your group use the award money?

As with most small non-profits our ideas are bigger than our budget. Given the opportunity we would like to expand our participation in childhood education by being able to sponsor more low income families in attending The Giant Magnet…The children’s festival held each year at the Seattle Center with acclaimed international performers. Additionally, we are planning to begin a two-week student exchange program between the two cities if funding allows.
