Motivation in Motion from Amputee Advocates on Vimeo.
How do you come together and share a resource?
We come together to inspire one another and celebrate the ability to be active.
Amputee Advocates provides support for amputees and their close friends and families.
We also host activities such as ski-biking, dancing for amputees, yoga for amputees, amputee sailing and golf in order to encourage amputees to keep enjoying the activities they’ve always loved and teach one another new activities we may have never have learned on our own.
Many of us also volunteer at the Veterans’ Hospital for studies on the function of prosthetics. We also volunteer at UW Orthotics and Prosthetics Department and the UW Bio-Engineering Research Department.
How would your group use the award money?
The funds would help us host more activities in order to provide a way for amputees to stay active, seek support, meet new friends and inspire others to see that enjoying life is our most priceless possession.

These people inspire me to overcome the simple injuries I have to deal with. Living and being active with limbloss shows all of us that we humans can overcome anything… j

What an amazing video! Love it. Im so proud to be apart of such a motivating and active group of amputee’s. We should feel so lucky & blessed to have such amazing leadership in J for gathering us together each month and motiviating us to keep in touch. We have such wonderful sports to keep us active and doing the things we love… and just being normal people having fun & living life! Nothing can stop us…

What a wonderful, uplifting video. You are an awesome group. I knew that before but now the rest of the world will know it. You are role models for not only the other amputees but for anyone who finds themselves inactive and stuck on the couch. Great job!
